Issues may include:

  • Expansion of cardroom gaming

LEGISLATION

SUCCESS IN 2017

CGA successfully helped defeat Assembly Bill 5 by Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher. The legislation would have required an employer with 10 or more employees to offer additional hours of work to an existing nonexempt employee before hiring an additional employee or subcontractor. The bill would have authorized an employee to file a complaint for violation and bring a civil action.

REGULATIONS

CGA leadership is in regular communication with the various state agencies that oversee the cardroom industry. We work to maintain an open line of communications and have invited representatives to provide informational seminars on compliance.
