California Gaming Association to Host Annual Meeting & Trade Show 

Cardroom Owners Across the State Gather for Trade Show, Educational Workshops, Charity Poker and Golf Tournament 

South Lake Tahoe – The California Gaming Association (CGA) will be hosting its Annual Meeting and Trade Show October 14-16, 2017 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in South Lake Tahoe. The annual gathering will offer a trade show with more than three dozen exhibitors, golf tournament at the world renown Edgewood Tahoe, and a charity poker tournament with proceeds to benefit Operation Homefront. There will also be educational opportunities such as a workshop by FinCEN Senior Enforcement Specialist Delia Antemie. Highlights of the CGA 2017 Annual Meeting & Trade Show include:


Sunday, October 15 

Keynote Speaker: Scott Ward
Scott Ward, an expert in fantasy sports and sports betting, will be the keynote dinner speaker. Mr. Ward will discuss the implications of the upcoming US Supreme Court decision, the status of daily fantasy sports and the opportunities for the California gaming industry. Mr. Ward is with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in Washington D.C. and represents Fantasy Sports for All, a DFS advocacy group.

Golf Tournament: Edgewood Tahoe
CGA will host its annual golf tournament with sponsor Gaming Fund Group and Blackstone Gaming.

Charity Poker Tournament
CGA will host its annual charity poker tournament with sponsor Knighted Ventures. All proceeds of the poker tournament will go to Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront’s mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked hard to protect.


Monday, October 17 

Educational Workshops 

• Title 31/AML: Culture of Compliance: FinCEN senior enforcement specialist Delia Antemie will further educate members about Title 31 compliance.

• Crisis Communications: Becky Warren, principal at Elevate Public Affairs will walk members through effective strategies to prepare for the unexpected and navigate any crisis.

• Protecting Cardroom Game Integrity: Bill Zender will provide advice and tips for cardroom operators to protect games from scams and ensure fair play.

Trade Show
With nearly 40 exhibitors, CGA members have the opportunity to learn about the many products and services available to better improve their operations.
